Connecting multiple patch panels 11 years 7 months ago #20010

I want to connect three patch panels and three switches using cat5 utp with TIA/EIA 568B standards. How can I interconnect this devices? Please help on how I should terminate the cables.

Hi Sidekick

Interesting question, and I'll try and answer as best I can.

Ok

For your patch panels they can be connected to a switch via fiber leads, or you can connect via cat5 direct to the switch.

For the switches, if you are connecting them together, normally you would have a "stacking Lead" to connect them together.

Sorry the answer is a bit vague, but hopefully it will point you in the right direction.

Thanks

Sidekick, are you wondering about whether to use straight through or crossed-over connections between the switches?
