TOPIC: Cisco switch selection ?

Cisco switch selection ? 10 years 9 months ago #11788

Imagine a scenario....small bussines company with 20 or so workstations that should be connected via Cisco switch and gain access to the net via entry level router...say..1700 series.Question is...if I would have to,presumably, quite often change the switch port config and from time to time select different ports on the switch to be in different VLANs...which cisco switch should I go for ? I am not familiar with them so the one with best scalability would do.

Thanx

Hey,

For a Small network I would suggest to go with Cisco 2950 Series. To be more specific a Cisco 2950G with Fibre Module (for future enhancement). I have been working with these switches for a pretty long time on the Testing Domain and I find them reliable...

Thanks
