Hi, im looking a software that is entirely focused on creating topology like MS visio. The thing is, i dont like how the equip icons look like so most likely i use packet tracer and it has better representation of devices.

what do you use in making network topology or network diagram?

Why don't you try MS Visio with updates which has more icons and connectors for networks. I do the same

Fluke used to do a tool called Network Inspector that would do this; it called Visio then drove it to create the diagram. They replaced Network Inspector with a later thing that relies on their external hardware network probes for its input, not sure whether the drawing facility is still included. The whole thing costs serious money though

I use Dia, it's similar to Visio but free. All types of ready made network shapes (routers, switches) are there.

You might also like to download the extra shapes.
