I found some cool printers on the internet which don't cost tons on ink.

Something that you can buy right now:

Planon PS900 PrintStik
www.jr.com/planon-systems/pe/PNO_PS900/

This is a portable thermal printer which means it's small and does not require ink for about $160. (assumed less if you shop around for it) Also it scans in documents and only operates in black and white (because it burns the paper).
