Project I2 (Internet 2)

Hi, Guys anyone know about I2, I got news that many Varsities and leading IT Companies in U.S are in the process of making I2 (Internet 2) which help in room for improvement of internet in terms of better bandwidth, security and also backward compatibility to the existing internet, it uses IP V6 and also many other new protocols are added in to the existing TCP/IP. anyone got some more information, you are welcome to share in this thread, Cheers.

I remember hearing about Internet2 when they set a ne speed record for data transfer using INternet etchnology. The news article I saw is here
