Hello,
I am using Packet Tracer version 5.0 to work on my assginment. I have to create a record on sever under DNS option. I added domain name www.trakkers.com with IP address 10.0.1.2. However, when I go to command prompt and check my config, I do not see ip address of DNS. I see that DNS server is not set. I must be doing some thing wrong or missing something. Please help me find the problem.

I hope I understand you well here,

The DNS page on the server machine does not give the DNS server IP to other hosts. It only defines the mappings between domains and IPs that this server should reply when asked for.

To automatically set the DNS server's IP on other hosts, go to the DHCP page on your server and configure DNS there. Then enable DHCP on the other hosts.

There is an easier way without using DHCP, which is to define STATIC IP/Gateway/DNS on the hosts. So you can just configure the hosts with the IP of your DNS server manually.

I'm lost.. could you tell how you added a domain name with IP?
