I remove an HP 2055 laserjet network printer from the pack and try to print its default IP from the button , the net config page printed without the IP . why ?

Was the printer connected to any LAN while you tried that function. Sometimes the printer won't print any IP address if the network card does not detect a LAN connection.

Try it with the LAN cable plugged in and see if that makes a difference

If this is a new printer (since you said unpacked), It could also have been configured (by default) to get an IP via DHCP. So as Arani, mentioned if the LAN cable is unplugged or you don't have a DHCP server (usually ISP router) connected to the same subnet, then it won't have an IP.

the printer was configured to get IP authomatically , when I changed it to manual from the display button it worked.
